This policy explains how
Sriram Goteti (referred to as "we," "us," or "Antaral?") collects, uses, and protects information you share when you participate in the Antaral? research initiative through this website. If you don't want your information handled in the ways described here, please don't participate. Questions:
antaral.research@proton.me.
1.Who We Are
Antaral? is an independent primary research initiative led by Sriram Goteti, a Senior IT Systems Engineering Architect based in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. The research studies how IT outsourcing and partner-transition decisions actually play out in enterprises, based on first-person interviews with senior IT and business leaders.
This is not a corporate platform. There is no third-party data broker, advertising network, or marketing list behind this site. The data exists to inform the research.
2.What We Collect
When you submit your details to begin
- Your name (you provide it)
- Your title and company (you provide them)
- Your work email address (you provide it)
- Optionally, the name of an outsourcing partner or vendor you've worked with
When you complete the interview
- Your spoken answers, converted to text on your device via your browser's built-in speech recognition
- AI-polished versions of those answers, but only if you click "Polish" on a given question
- Any text you type in the optional "Suggested questions" or "Additional story" fields
- Whether you indicated you're open to a follow-up conversation
- Your selected avatar OR uploaded photo OR captured live photo, if you provide one
- Whether you gave permission to display a quote from you publicly on the site
Technical information
- Your IP address — used briefly for rate-limiting and abuse prevention
- Standard server logs (timestamp, browser type) from our hosting provider
- A session token from Supabase (the authentication provider) stored in your browser
What we explicitly do NOT collect
- Your voice as audio — voice never leaves your device; only the text transcription does
- Your camera feed — except for the optional snapshot you explicitly take and save
- Information from other tabs, browser history, or device data
- Information from third parties about you
3.How We Use What We Collect
The data is used to:
- Conduct, analyze, and write up the research
- Publish anonymized findings, frameworks, and a white paper based on this research
- Display a public quote with your name and title — only if you explicitly opted in
- Display your photo (avatar / uploaded / captured) on the Voices section of the site — only if you provided one
- Follow up with you personally about the research — only if you indicated openness to follow-up
- Email the researcher when a new interview is submitted (operational notification)
We do not:
- Sell or rent your data
- Use it for advertising
- Share it with marketing partners
- Train AI models on it
4.AI Processing
We use Anthropic's Claude API to:
- Optionally rephrase your spoken answer into a polished written version (when you click "Polish")
- Optionally generate a suggested quote from your first few answers (when you opt into a public testimonial)
When we send text to Anthropic for these tasks:
- The text is sent over an encrypted connection
- According to Anthropic's published policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models
- The processing is transient — Anthropic returns the result and we don't persist anything with them beyond the round trip
You always see and approve any AI-generated text before it becomes part of your saved response. The original raw transcript is always preserved alongside the polished version.
5.Where Your Data Lives
| Service | What it stores | Location |
| Supabase | Interview responses, account session, uploaded photos | Cloud (AWS, US regions) |
| Vercel | Website hosting and serverless function logs | Cloud (US regions) |
| Anthropic API | Transient — text in, text out, not persisted | US |
| Formspree | Email notification to researcher with a summary | US |
| Your browser's localStorage | Draft of your in-progress interview, until you submit | Your device only |
These services have their own privacy policies. Our use of them is the standard data processor relationship — they host and process on our behalf.
6.Cookies and Local Storage
We use the minimum necessary:
- A Supabase session cookie / token to keep you logged in after you click the magic-link verification email
- localStorage to auto-save your in-progress interview every 30 seconds so a refresh doesn't lose your work
We do not use third-party analytics cookies, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or social media trackers. There are no cookie consent banners because there's nothing to consent to beyond the strictly necessary session.
7.How Long We Keep It
- Interview responses, transcripts, AI-polished versions: kept indefinitely as part of the research record, unless you request deletion
- Your email address: kept as long as your interview is on file
- Uploaded photos: kept indefinitely if you opted into public display; deleted on request otherwise
- Server logs and IP addresses: 30 days
- localStorage drafts: deleted from your device when you submit successfully
You can request earlier deletion at any time. See Section 9.
8.Security Measures
- All traffic to and from the site uses HTTPS (TLS encryption)
- The interview questions are not loaded into your browser until your magic-link session is verified
- Database access is gated behind a service role key held only on our serverless functions
- Uploaded images are validated by file format before storing them
- All user-submitted text is sanitized to prevent code injection
- No third-party API keys or secrets are present in client-side code
No system is perfectly secure. We do our best, but if you share something through this site you should treat it as data that could be exposed in the worst case.
9.Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you
- Correct — fix any inaccuracies
- Delete — request that we remove your interview entirely
- Withdraw consent — for public display of your quote or photo
- Object — to certain uses of your data
To exercise any of these, email antaral.research@proton.me with the address you used to participate. We'll confirm your identity and act on the request within 30 days.
If you're in the European Union, United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), those rights apply and we honor them. The legal basis for our processing is your consent.
10.Children's Privacy
This site and research are intended for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11.International Data Transfers
If you are outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By participating, you consent to that transfer. We use service providers that are widely used internationally (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic).
12.Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we make a material change that affects how we use existing data, we'll attempt to notify participants by email before the change takes effect.
Version 1.0 — This policy reflects the current state of the Antaral? research initiative and is subject to revision after formal legal review.
